Beyond Boundaries Initiative Launch at Lord’s

Global smart logistics leader DP World has brought its acclaimed Beyond Boundaries Initiative to Lord’s Cricket Ground, with the help of the MCC Foundation (MCCF) and England legend Sir James Anderson, marking a powerful moment of convergence between cricket’s heritage and its future.

The delivery came ahead of the ICC World Test Championship Final, of which DP World is Global Logistics Partner, and celebrates the twelfth shipping container repurposed by the initiative. Each container – a symbolic asset of DP World’s global operations – serves as a fully functional cricket facility and a vehicle for opportunity, carrying equipment and access to under-served cricketing communities around the world.

MCCF Director of Operations, Angus Berry, said: “We feel a responsibility to the grassroots game in this country and beyond. This collaboration with DP World, arriving at Lord’s ahead of the ICC World Test Championship Final, underlines our shared commitment to creating access and opportunity for all young cricketers.”

This latest milestone sees the UK become the eighth country to receive a Beyond Boundaries Initiative delivery, boasting a changing facility through the repurposed shipping container, decorated with the image of DP World’s global ambassador, Sachin Tendulkar, and loaded with 250 cricket kits. The kits – each including a bat, pads, gloves, and helmet – will be distributed to schools across the UK in partnership with the MCC Foundation, helping to unlock new potential in grassroots cricket.

“It’s great to see the support of an ICC partner extending to the grassroots game around the world and now arriving in the UK ahead of this week’s final,” commented Sir James Anderson.

“Opportunity and access is everything in growing cricket here, so DP World’s provision of kits to the school system is a huge moment.”

BARCLAYS TO SUPPORT THE NATIONAL HUB COMPETITION

We are thrilled to announce that a generous donation has been made by Barclays to help fund this year’s U14 and U16’s National Hub Competitions.

As principal partner of MCC and Lord’s, Barclays is already supporting MCCF through significant annual investment to help to grow our various programmes. Receiving this extra backing from Barclays will help us to deliver our largest Hub Competition yet, providing some 5,500 state school cricketers with free summer match play and a chance to lift silverware at the Home of Cricket on Saturday 13 September.

We are pleased to confirm the finalists of our U14 Boys' National Hub Competition are Nottingham and Kent (West). Nottingham return to Lord's for the first time since 2022, when the Hub's U15 team was defeated by Newcastle. They will be fighting for redemption when they face off against the newcomers from Kent.
